We have updated several areas of our site and updated the current information for the CD board of Supervisors and when they meet.
Due to Covid-19, some things have changed, but many have not. We are still here working to help local producers get projects done. Please contact us with anything that you may be needing. Conservation Districts are still meetings, some may be meeting in-person and others may be meeting by other means. Please make sure you check with us or on the Utah Public Notice website to see how that is being done. If the board usually meets in a USDA office, at this time, they have made other arrangements to meet elsewhere.
Read about our current projects and programs, as well as the spotlight on Delta Conservation District, and Conservation Farmers in our area.

The Delta Soil Health Workshop was held September 21, 2016. Forty people attended the workshop –some came from as far as Juab County. The workshop began with a slideshow presentation, along with guest speakers Grant Cardon, of USU Extension, Paul McCollaum, an area farmer, and Nels Hansen of NRCS. Many area businesses donated door prizes, and a raffle was also held to raise money for future workshops. Oversons Farm Center and Oasis Seed provided lunch, and USU Extension provided transportation and additional information. After the workshop and lunch, Chance Lyman, Delta Conservation District Supervisor, took the attendees to his own farm to show the benefits of soil health. Then on to other farms to discuss cover crops and winter grazing. The tour was a great success! Delta CD hopes to hold other workshops like this in the future, and hopes other areas can do the same.

Fremont River Conservation District hosted a tour today to discuss the watershed. DWQ, NRCS, and County Commissioners attended to better understand the Fremont River, Spring Creek, Fish Creek, and Bicknell Bottoms. Department of Water Quality and NRCS expressed their appreciation in having the Conservation District as a resource. Local input and information is vital to State and Federal research programs.
A special thanks to Fremont River Conservation District for leading the tour and providing lunch!
